What is the Galaxy Projector and why should you buy it?

Galaxy projectors have recently become popular on TikTok. Their magic is impossible to resist. After all, who doesn't love a colorful interstellar display that can be turned on at any time? If all the hype is making you wonder what a Galaxy Projector is and why you should buy one, we can understand. Find out everything you need to know below.

What is a galaxy projector?

The Galaxy Projector is a type of star projector that combines images of a starry night sky and hazy clouds to create an intergalactic feel. Many galaxy projectors cover the walls and ceiling, completely surrounding you with light that transforms and transports you and your guests to a new level. They often include all sorts of other features to look out for when looking into the cost of a Galaxy projector.

The colorful lighting effects of the Galaxy Projector often help people who struggle to sleep or feel calm. This is because the colors of the blue and green stars and nebulae that are characteristic of the Galaxy Projector are associated with improved mood. The red color of some galactic projectors is also related to sleep. The Galaxy projector also works great as a starry night light projector for immersive lighting in a kid's room or playroom

How does a galaxy projector work?

The best Galaxy projectors (such as the Sky Lite and Sky Lite 2.0) work by combining two types of light: laser  and LED.

Laser lights are known for their clarity. This type of light  is known to be bright and far-reaching, so the star effect remains crisp and clear even at great distances. This is known as coherent light, meaning it consists of light waves propagating in the same direction. All other types of home lighting, whether fluorescent, incandescent, or LED, are inconsistent. That is, it sends light in multiple directions. The result is often bright patches with a blurry, out-of-focus "cheesy hat" effect.

In the case of BlissLights, our patented technology is based on our rich experience designing well-known colorful laser light theme parks  and implementing them into consumer electronics. A single laser beam is refracted into thousands of tiny beams to create the shooting star effect of a galaxy projector. Each of these rays looks like a star and retains its shape no matter how far it shines.

The Galaxy Projector's LEDs can emit incoherent light, but that's fine if you want to create the effect of a dreamy night sky. The soft, floating nebulae look fluffy and detailed, so they reflect perfectly off the walls  and provide the perfect backdrop for these bright stars.  LEDs can also change color when the laser beam is not present, so some Galaxy projectors allow the LED light to change color  to suit your mood.

Wait, but are all these lasers safe?

While it is understandable that the concept of a laser raises safety questions, Galaxy laser projectors are generally 100% safe. The lasers in Galaxy projectors are typically low-power, and the diffracted beams  split do not exceed 5 mW each. This means you can plug it into a regular household outlet and use it without problems.

To make sure your Galaxy projector meets safety standards, check that it is registered with the Center for Device and Radiation Health (CDRH).  CDRH registration is a mark of product safety. Home lasers, such as the Galaxy projector, are safe, especially for children and pets, but are generally not recommended to be pointed at the sky. As a precaution (and for the best experience!), it's best to point the Galaxy Projector at a wall such as a house wall,  room ceiling, or other  space.

How do you use a galaxy projector?

Depending on which model you buy, the orientation may vary slightly, but Galaxy projectors are generally powered in one of two ways and can be controlled in one of three ways.

First, you can turn on your Galaxy projector in two ways.

Battery power

Some Galaxy projectors run on rechargeable batteries. This galaxy projector is great enough to immerse a  room in a galaxy spectacle until the battery  runs out. Then you have to wait a while until you can start charging your device and  resume your dive. It's a shortcut to  less exciting experiences.

Plug-in
A powered Galaxy projector (or one with a USB cable and 120-240V wall adapter) will not be interrupted. Power from outlets continuously flows to these devices, providing continuous immersion and change. Your mental journey to a planet far beyond this one will go so smoothly that you'll forget you've ever been anywhere else.

From the projector itself
Most Galaxy projectors have buttons  you can press to switch between lighting modes, brightness settings, and effects. With this projector, you can see the world in a whole new light at the touch of a button. But there are much easier ways to do wonders right in your living room, home office or bedroom.

Remote control
Select Galaxy projectors come with a remote control that allows you to adjust settings throughout the room. This feature provides maximum convenience. After all, this is why all modern TVs have remote controls. However, Galaxy projector remotes are usually small and easy to lose. What if you could control your projector with something bigger that you always have close at hand?
Mobile app
Control the latest Galaxy projector right from your phone. Just download the Galaxy Projector branded mobile app and connect it to your projector. From there, you can reimagine your surroundings with just a touch of the screen. Some of the high-end Galaxy projectors also allow you  to create and save custom projection settings using a mobile app.

Which galaxy projector fares best on all the above fronts?

As you've already learned, Galaxy's top-of-the-line projectors will cover every wall and ceiling, either powered by electricity or USB. If you use it to feel calmer or fall asleep faster, you should also include blue, green, or red. For maximum convenience, it should also be managed and configured from your smartphone. It  also requires the use of very bright, sharp but low-power lasers and  CDRH registration. Yes, there are quite a few, but the BlissLights Sky Lite 2.0 meets all these requirements.

The Sky Lite 2.0 allows you to cover 900 square feet of wall  from  10 feet away. You can choose between soft red, green or blue hazy clouds against a backdrop of green or blue stars. You can illuminate two misty clouds at the same time for a whole new experience. You can also adjust all the brightness, color, effects and patterns directly from your phone with the BlissLights app available for Apple and Android devices.
